How's this for an obituary?

A good friend of mine has been working on his genealogy for sometime now. Most of this relatives came from Germany and awhile back he found this death for a long deceased relative which he translated and shared with me. I can't resist posting it here:

January 1799, in Unter Sapach. "Maria Catharina, the departed wife of Joh. Martin Martin, the master brickmaker still living in Hollenbach, who for the last nine years has been the master brickmaker in Unter Aspace. [She] distinguished herself from thousands of her sex through her hateful quarrelsomeness and her misanthropic termperament and character, and died to her own good fortune and to that of her family and everyone around her, of an inflammation of the lungs, January 4th and was interred on the 6th. Age: 75 years, 3 weeks, 4 days. Funeral text: Galatians: 6: 7-9--"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsover a man soweth that shall he also reap...."

Nuff said, I guess.

jldhvGood Grief. I guess they never heard of that saying “ if you can’t say anything nice about somebody don’t say anything at all.”
Anyway she sounds like she was a great gal .

I actually read a recent article about a Roman Catholic Priest that spoke rather harshly about an individual (the dead one) as he officiated his funeral and the surviving relatives actually brought a lawsuit against him! Not sure how the lawsuit turned out.

Wow! Am I the only evil person who thought this was sort of refreshing and funny? It couldn't hurt her feelings since she was already dead, after all. Bryan, are you referring to the not- dearly departed or the author?
